CORRECTIONS

p76 - BIGGEST WINS.  Further research has shown that the 15-0 win over Ashton United Reserves in February 1967 was bettered some six decades earlier by a 20-0 win over Whitchurch Alexandra in a home game in the old Cheshire League Division 1 on 5th April 1901.  The league fixture was originally scheduled for 26th December and a match did take place that day with Nantwich winning 4-0.  However, Whitchurch arrived late and the match referee didn’t turn up at all - and so, before kick-off, it was agreed to play the match but as a friendly game.  When the re-arranged league match took place in April, Nantwich won by that stunning 20-0 margin!
